September 30, 2012 Cape Cod Ramble

Yet another top up, wipers on and defroster running Miata Mingle.  In spite of the weather, we had a good day...(Which would have been better under the sun !)
We met a Jim and Beth Shea's, then traveled to Wareham MA. to Don and Ella Hayward's to add the last of our group of intrepid travelers.  From there we went to a visitor's center, and watched a video of the history of the Cope Cod Canal.  Very informative, and appropriate for the rainy day.
Lunch and recreational beverages at a pub in Orleans MA. followed, then on to shopping as usual.
Don and Ella invited us to their house for desert and coffee (apple and pumpkin pie), then the trip home.

Enjoy the pictures below, taken with my GPS again.  (Got to remember my camera next time.)

Spring Shopping Run June 10 2012

We finally hit the weather jackpot!  The sky was...can you spell blue? We had a top down day for out tour of north central Mass.  We took a leisurely ride starting at Jim and Beth's house in Attleboro Mass. with stops at the Grafton Flea Market, (sorry, no pix) and a few other choice antique stores on the route.  We had lunch in the tradition of the Miata Fun Runs, then back to Attleboro.  All in all, a great day in the Miatas, in the sun.
Enjoy the few pictures I did take, (with my GPS) and watch this blog for future rides.

May 5th 2012 Dustoff Tour

We started out on a cool cloudy May day, and ended up the same way...a real let down after a top down, warmer than usual April.  We started out at our usual spot, Jim and Beth Shea's house in Attleboro Mass.
The destination we planned was Wayne Carini's dealership, the F40 Garage in Portland CT.  Wayne is famous for obtaining high end classic cars for his clientele.  His efforts can be seen on the cable TV show "Chasing Classic Cars".  He has a standing offer of "Coffee and Cars" to anyone who comes on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the rain and cool weather had chased all the classic cars home by the time we got there.  We got a chance to talk about the cars in the dealership though, and Wayne's salespeople were gracious hosts, offering coffee and cars, as advertised.
From the F40 garage, we took a leisurely ride through the Connecticut countryside to just over the RI border and stopped for lunch at Snow's Clam Box...Great food, a Miata Mingle tradition.
We ended the day at Jim and Beth's as usual for coffee an'.
Enjoy the Pix!
